For more than 100 years, the International Institute has welcomed immigrants and refugees from around the world to our city. The Race for Refugees began in 2017 by community member Heather Heuwe in response to the initial federal travel ban on 7- Muslim-majority nations.The Race for Refugees brings people together to celebrate multiculturalism in our region and raise funds that help support first-touch services for refugees and immigrants.
During registration, participants have the option to choose between a R4R5 t-shirt, or upgrade to a R4R premium shirt for an additional $7! *Premium shirts are only available through March 31st.
